Idea is to build a platform which will help you to create and share your experiences throughout the lifetime with loved ones. With collections of video snippets we will try to create a story that will eventually help in bridging the gap between generations we face today. Moreover older generations have rich experience and learning, which we don’t want to LOSE.
We visited an oldage home 40 kms. away from PDPU Campus, Gandhinagar, on the first day. The only language they understood was Gujrati so we appointed some of Gujrati fellows in the group to lead us through the inquiry process. We felt there was lack of connection with most of us due to language barrier but could feel the nature of sharing which they all have.
They were excited to share much more than the questions we asked. They complained about the lack of resource in the place and how much they suffer even to order basic amenities but one of the lady shared toffees to all of us with her beautiful smile.
While brainstorming we focused on the lost connection between the older and new generation.
After several hours of discussion we realized that older generation have so much rich experiences to share which we cannot afford to lose. So our thought revolved around the fact that the children and their grandparents have enough time to spare hence that time can be used for sharing the experience also catering their basic need of support and caring which is missing now a days especially towards older generations. Imagine the happiness they feel when they co-share stuffs and experiences with each other.

These days we are faced with the dilemma where we get that detached from our memories of the past and forget about them. Most of our memories are chronicled through the stories our elders share with us whereas we remain oblivious to these remembrances. However it brings us immense joy and happiness when we get to remember them and share it with others too, not leaving out the surprise in our own discovery. To relive these moments and provide the opportunity to users to reverse the roles that existed so far, our app seeks to achieve this.
Lot of sheets and sticky notes later, not forgetting about the hours of brainstorming that we did, we arrived upon this idea that gets us create our own LifeStory…..
The video seeks to demonstrate a working prototype of the application that we are trying to create. It gives a glimpse of the intractive interface that shall be available to the user for creating a repository of his/her own memories. It shall be revealed back to the user during those moments when he might refer to keywords that describe these moments.
We named our app life story because it helps our target user charts his life in his own customized way, A new age e diary.
